[attr="class","thecorner"] [attr="class","nora1"] [attr="class","nora2"] [attr="class","boom1"] a mumble [attr="class","boom2"] so [attr="class","boom3"] dreamy [attr="class","brvz"] Lately, Mira found the Calhuns absolutely impossible to stand. It wasn't that they were bad people, nor had they actually done anything to her, but she still found it difficult to forgive the fact that she was, essentially, their prisoner. For the last couple of hours, she was forced to remain in a confined space with them as the small "family" traveled from Chrysor to Ornja city, then check into a hotel room and then get food and it felt like Mira was never going to be able to get away. But finally, just as the sun passed the highest point in the sky, she was given permission to explore the city. Without waiting to listen to anything else they had to say about curfew and strangers and keeping within the lines, she grabbed her bag and her Petilil and rushed out of the hotel room.
Freedom gave her a new bounce in her step. For the first time all day, she found herself smiling. This little city was much nicer than the last one, if at only for the beautiful lake that was always in view. Heading straight for the glimmering waters, she spent a while walking along its shores, telling Filiz some of the stories of the spirits, growing much more animated as she went along. Laughing as she tried to mimic different voices, Mira suddenly stopped, realizing that she had been speaking in her native tongue and rather loudly at that. A quick glance around showed nobody around, but the mood was broken.
Much quieter and somber now, Mira continued along the shore, not realizing just how far from the hotel she was getting. When she came across a a building with 'Pokemon Rehabilitation Center' written on it, she wasn't able to make out what the second word was, but it still kind of made sense. A Pokemon ... Center. Must be the Pokemon Center of this city. Right?
Though she had been living in Cyal for almost a year now, she still found more things she didn't understand and wanted to learn. Especially when it came to their medicine. Mira had read a couple books on it (intermediate ones and with a translator/dictionary close by) but she still didn't fully understand it. Something about creating fake plants? Copies of plants that worked, because ... It was better? Mira had ducked her head into a couple PokeCenters to ask questions, but no one seemed particularly in a hurry to indulge her. Perhaps this one would be a little different.
"What do you think, Fili?" Mira asked her little Petilil, who chirruped in response. Re-ha-bi-li-ta-ti-on. What could that possibly mean?
Quickening her gait, Mira reached the front doors of the building, a little smaller than some of the other PokeCenters she had visited. Then again, both Chalaz and Richitev were pretty large cities, much higher advanced than even some of the foreign cities. With a sense of immediacy, she knocked on the door, maybe a little too impatiently.
"'Allo?" Nora rapped on the door one more time, still a little unused to the concept of doors. "Is anyone in?"

I WANT TO EMBRACE THIS SUMMER TIGHTLY BECAUSE I'LL BE BY YOUR SIDE, ALWAYS About a year and a half had passed since the shy girl opened up her Pokemon rehabilitation center in order to care for Pokemon who didn’t have trainers to care for them when they got hurt in the wild. When she first got started, it was difficult to go out and find Pokemon that needed help, but thankfully over time she paired up with a ranger who happily brought her Pokemon that needed help, and she had some help from a few trainers along the way. Shiori at this point had just finished bandaging up a Swablu who had hurt its wing and couldn’t fly very well, the cloud-like wing wrapped in a bandage as she sat on a stool and gently fed the flying Pokemon a bit of medicine before giving it praise with a small smile on her face. “Good job,” she told the Pokemon, who chirped back at her happily with the acknowledgement and understanding that she did something good by taking the medicine. Shiori giggled a little bit at the spirit of the Swablu, gently lifting the Pokemon by her core before saying, “We’ll move you over to a pillow and get you to rest a little bit okay? You’ll be better in no time.” She set the Pokemon on a pillow that was settled on a small stool in the main room, the Swablu already seeming a bit drowsy. While many Pokemon Centers had machines that worked to heal Pokemon from inside a Pokeball, due to the fact that the Pokemon that she treated didn’t have trainers, she had to rely on other means of healing Pokemon including using her three Pokemon to help her, if they didn’t trip her along the way as the twin Eeveelutions wove between her legs and rubbed themselves against her. In addition to being different than a normal Pokemon Center, the door to her building did not automatically open. Hearing a knock at the door startled the owner ever so slightly and she jumped, glancing toward the door and wondering who could be visiting her. She knew that Silas was out on patrol and wouldn’t be back for a while, so it couldn’t be him, and she couldn’t really think of who else it could actually be. Adjusting herself and pressing a few wrinkles out of her shirt, she took her apron off and hung it on the coatrack near the door before approaching the door, hearing a feminine voice through it, which surprised her a little bit more. While it wasn’t super rare that she had visitors, it wasn’t really all that common either, but the woman standing only at five feet and two inches tall turned the knob and opened the door, looking at the stranger in front of her. Her shyness overcame her a little bit and she spoke softly, “H-Hi there! Can I… can I help you?”[ OOC ] @nora MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

[attr="class","thecorner"] [attr="class","nora1"] [attr="class","nora2"] [attr="class","boom1"] a mumble [attr="class","boom2"] so [attr="class","boom3"] dreamy [attr="class","brvz"] Having been standing rather uncomfortably close to the door, leaning in to see if she could hear anybody inside, when the door opened, and suddenly she was looming over a girl a head shorter than she was. "Oh, I'm sorry," she started, backing up a step. There was a brief moment of silence, before the other stammered an introduction, and Mira felt her own nervousness grow. Had she done something wrong? It was so difficult to understand how all of the different social customs worked out here, and people were much more sensitive and much less honest about their feelings.
"Um," Mira paused, not sure how to explain why she had come here. Though the Assimilation program had been going on for a year, there were still many people against the idea of outsiders coming into their homes. Fancy that. Still, there wasn't really a better way to put it, and she couldn't very well lie about it? Maybe she just wouldn't mention it outright.
Social as a child, and rather talkative and bright, she found it hard to remain just as social in these foreign lands and this strange language. The words were difficult and she often had to take a second to translate it in her brain before speaking. And despite what everyone said, there were many people here who were not understanding. They thought her dirty or dumb or otherwise just less than them, a feeling she wasn't accustomed to. It very quickly broke her spirits, and she felt self-conscious in this language.
"I was wondering if you would ... show me around?" Mira found her tongue too clumsy for the soft words and sounds, and in her nervousness, she couldn't find the right words. Suddenly feeling a little embarrassed, and a little silly, she started fidgeting her feet as she wracked her brain. "How you ... heal the Pokemon?"

I WANT TO EMBRACE THIS SUMMER TIGHTLY BECAUSE I'LL BE BY YOUR SIDE, ALWAYS Not really expecting to be greeted by such a tall girl, she sheepishly looked down and cleared her throat. “Ah… no no it’s okay!” she started, trying to seem a little bit more cheery and not as taken aback by the sudden visitor, even though it was quite sudden and not anything that she was used to. They were both silent for a moment before the other seemed to start to say something, but it was hard for the other to get the words out. It seemed that the two were similar in that respect as Shiori awkwardly stood there in the doorway wondering whether or not she should say anything first, but she shifted herself a little bit as kind of a welcoming gesture if the woman wanted to come inside, not wanting to just be blocking the entrance. Shiori could tell for certain that the woman was a little bit different, but it wasn’t anything that clicked in her mind quickly and she couldn’t really tell why she felt this way about the girl, but she kept it to herself. Most people didn’t really come to her to look to healing Pokemon and mostly would bother the nurses of the Pokemon Centers. Many people even saw her business as unnecessary because Pokemon heal out on their own anyway, but she liked to make sure that they healed right. At one point she even managed to fix a Beedrill with a broken wing who would surely never have flown again if she hadn’t helped it because it was so ruined. Shiori paused for a moment and mumbled, “Hi… I’m Shiori Akiyama. I… well I run this place. This isn’t really like an actual Pokemon Center but I take care of wild Pokemon mostly,” lifting her hand and scratching the back of her head. The purple coat of an Espeon could be seen flashing in the distance, and a loud meow of greeting floated over as Cadence padded over and sniffed the newcomer’s leg and feet. “Ah—s-sorry,” she mumbled, “Come in…” her voice was soft as she got the new girl to come in, gently closing the door behind her. She paused for a moment more before saying, “Mm… what’s your name…?”[ OOC ] @nora MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

[attr="class","thecorner"] [attr="class","nora1"] [attr="class","nora2"] [attr="class","boom1"] a mumble [attr="class","boom2"] so [attr="class","boom3"] dreamy [attr="class","brvz"] Mira's nervousness died down a little when the other girl didn't point her out for being a little different. Perhaps she shared the anxiety over social interaction. Something along those lines, anyway, as she sensed a mutual awkwardness. Once the girl explained what this place was, though, her growing curiosity managed to dominate her anxiety. This seemed something much closer to what she used to do, treating Pokemon out of compassion and with your own hands, not with machines and synthetics.
She opened her mouth to ask a question, when she was interrupted by a loud meow. An Espeon! Those were incredibly rare in the forest, and she had never seen one in person before. "No no, it's fine," Mira said, as the Pokemon came near. She bit back a desire to reach down and pet it, curious to see if its fur really was soft and made of moonlight, like the stories told. "Espeons are very spiritual Pokemon; my Grandmother says they are blessed with the third eye of Jirachi."
Realizing that she had been awkwardly standing in the doorway for quite some time now, she walked in, taking a moment to look around the room before admiring the purple Pokemon again. The little Petilil in her arms chirruped a salutations, having always been social with Pokemon. Lost in thought, she almost missed Shiori's question. Shaking her head, she looked up with an apologetic smile.
"Oh, sorry. My name is Y--Mira Calhun. I'm very interested in Pokemon healing," she started. She still sometimes caught herself saying the wrong name, which was difficult because her new name was so similar. Mira hesitated a moment, stringing her words in her head before continuing, "I think what you do here is ... amazing and good."

I WANT TO EMBRACE THIS SUMMER TIGHTLY BECAUSE I'LL BE BY YOUR SIDE, ALWAYS Espeon made a noise of a meow when the new girl turned a bit of attention toward her, trying to get even more attention from the new face. “Bree. Breon,” Coda noised to his twin sister, who lifted her head and looked back toward the Umbreon who had also come out, weaving between his owner’s legs before going over to the newcomer as well. The twins were always interested in new Pokemon, but new people were even more rare than new Pokemon so they both were very curious about them. “Ah—C—Cadence, Coda… be nice,” Shiori told them softly, watching the twins get close to the girl and listening to what she had to say about Espeon, only giving a small, sheepish nod. She noticed the Petilil in the girl’s arms and couldn’t help but smile a little bit at the greeting, seeming to be pretty excited in general. Her head turned when she heard a little chirp of the Swablu that had its wing wrapped up and she giggled, turning herself and going to pick up the small Pokemon after giving a slight warning. “Come on, let’s move you to some place quiet so you can rest!” she concluded, seeming to be able to talk a lot more at ease around Pokemon than around people. She vanished into another room for a moment before coming back out and gently closing the door behind her. Listening to the woman speak her name, there seemed to be a bit of a slip of the tongue, which made her wonder about the girl a little bit more. She looked back at her for a moment, but found that she was staring too long and looked away quickly, clearing her throat. “H—Hi Mira… it’s nice to meet you,” she spoke bashfully, fidgeting with her fingers a little bit before lifting a hand and tucking her hair behind her ear. She blushed a bit when the woman complimented on her profession and felt a bit of a sense of pride that she normally didn’t have since a lot of people didn’t even know what she did here. “Ah—thank you… thank you so much,” her tone heightened a bit out of shyness and she asked, “What—uh… what kind of things are you interested in in Pokemon healing? Your… your Petilil is really cute…” she cleared her throat and tried to keep her composure. [ OOC ] @nora MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

[attr="class","thecorner"] [attr="class","nora1"] [attr="class","nora2"] [attr="class","boom1"] a mumble [attr="class","boom2"] so [attr="class","boom3"] dreamy [attr="class","brvz"] Too busy admiring the Espeon, she didn't even notice the Umbreon enter the room until he was close by and it took all she could to contain her excitement. The two Pokemon were both considered rare and spiritual, their entire evolution line was, and these two specifically were born of moonlight, only appearing to the kindest and purest of souls. Her entire childhood, Mira had listened to stories about these Pokemon coming to save heroes and martyrs. To have obtained both of these Pokemon, this girl must be a good soul. She knelt down, sitting on her heels, to say hello to the little Pokemon, and also allowing her own Petilil to say hello.
Mira almost started when the Swablu chirruped, and then felt a little embarrassed at not having noticed the Pokemon there. The way Shiori acted, it must have been one of the wild Pokemon she was taking care of. Still, there was nothing she could do about it now, and instead turned her attention to Filiz, who was leaning out of her arms to get a better look at the new Pokemon. Mira loosened her arms and set the little sprout on the ground, where she immediately approached the two Pokemon, lacking the self-consciousness that Mira did, chirruping her greetings.
Standing up as soon as she heard the door open and close again, Mira straightened out her shirt before giving her hat a nervous tug at Shiori's question. She supposed there was no way to avoid the subject now. One hand went up to grasp at the Venasaur claw that hung around her neck as a sort of protective and comforting charm as she started to explain. "I'm from ... the Island? And there I was taught how to be Healer, but you do things different here. I wanted you to teach me--if you don't mind." There was no reason to be nervous, Mira told herself, this girl wouldn't have these two marvelous Pokemon if she would judge her for being from the Island. Her nerves softening at the easy subject of her Petilil, Mira smiled softly. "Thank you, her name is Filiz."

I WANT TO EMBRACE THIS SUMMER TIGHTLY BECAUSE I'LL BE BY YOUR SIDE, ALWAYS At first, Shiori didn’t think that anyone could really be so excited about an Espeon and Umbreon, but she knew that Eeveelutions were pretty popular among people. She always forgot that the twins were often quite popular among people when they went around town to gather supplies for her Center and they would often follow her. Anya, her Froslass, on the other hand, was often a bit less praised so she often didn’t come out of the Center, especially since she liked staying inside anyway and caring for the Pokemon more rather than running errands. The twins gave friendly meows to the newcomers and Cadence even rubbed her head against the little Petilil. Watching the tall woman stand straight up again, she shifted herself a little bit, watching the girl’s hands rather than her face (a habit since she had trouble looking people in the eye) and watched her grab the object that was around her neck. The other seemed to look a bit troubled, and she hoped that she didn’t say anything wrong that startled the girl, worrying a little bit herself until the girl started talking. When she said that she was from Evter Island, it took her a bit by surprised, but also kind of felt like a kick in the gut. She was completely against the assimilation of the tribe members because she didn’t think it was right to just take people over and force them to do things when they are fine and don’t need any help. Shiori shifted between feet awkwardly, and at one point, Cadence turned on her paws and moved over to her, giving a meow as she could tell something was a bit off with her owner. Listening to the girl speak though, she felt sympathy toward her. She couldn’t imagine being taken away from her home and family and forced to live in an unfamiliar place. She had never really met anyone from the island until now, but she heard a lot on the news of things that have happened, and it just made her kind of sad. As she listened to her, she shifted between feet again, keeping her eye on the claw around her neck before glancing down at the Petilil. She wasn’t sure what to say at first, seeming to try to find the words to say to her and she finally said, “I… I would be happy to show you…” pausing before biting her lip and saying, “I’m sorry… if they… forced you here. It is not right… it’s really not right what they are doing to the people on the island…” looking down at the twins and gently petting Cadence’s head as she spoke as a way to calm her down a little bit. She stopped and cleared her throat afterward and finally mumbled, “S—Sorry. Is there… anything in specific that you are really interested in…? There’s kind of a lot of stuff…”[ OOC ] @nora MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

[attr="class","thecorner"] [attr="class","nora1"] [attr="class","nora2"] [attr="class","boom1"] a mumble [attr="class","boom2"] so [attr="class","boom3"] dreamy [attr="class","brvz"] Perhaps it was the expectation of a negative reaction that Shiori's next words really caught Mira off guard. There were many who backed the assimilation program for out of some strange desire to "civilize" them, thinking the Tribes to be backwards and savage. Rarely did Nora meet anyone who felt bad for her, much less sympathize with her current situation. Still, the way Shiori phrased it, Nora hesitated, as she hadn't been forced. Not really. She ran away, she just didn't know what she was running to.
"It's not your fault," Mira said, taking a hesitant step closer. The empathy she felt from this other woman had melted some of her nervousness, now feeling a little more comfortable. There was no way this woman would--purposefully--make her feel bad about the fact that she was born on the Island. She struggled to find the words to follow, though, finding that in her hurried want to comfort this stranger, her English was failing her. Filiz, distracted by the two strange Pokemon, suddenly looked back, sensing Mira's frustration. The little Pokemon glided over close, nuzzling against Mira's leg to comfort the young woman. "Please, don't fret about it."
Glad once the subject finally changed to why she was here, Mira brightened a little, mind racing for all the questions she wanted to ask, but she knew she shouldn't bombard the girl with all of her questions at once. "I don't even know where to start," she said, with a small laugh, "But ... could you show me your ... medicines? Is that what you use here--or do you use plants also?"

I WANT TO EMBRACE THIS SUMMER TIGHTLY BECAUSE I'LL BE BY YOUR SIDE, ALWAYS Shiori wasn’t the most knowledgeable in what was going on with the conflicts on Evter Island, but she knew a decent bit of what some of the government was doing. She knew that there were coaxing methods and sometimes just taking people to assimilate them. Granted, she didn’t know exactly what happened to this girl, so she may have been jumping the gun a little bit too much in assuming what was going on with her. She still seemed quite negative about the situation though, believing that what the government was doing was not right and that they really should be left alone. “Ah—“ she stopped when Mira took a step forward, biting her lip slightly as her body recoiled slightly out of her own sheepishness. She was scolding herself for talking too much, hoping that the other didn’t think wrong of her and hoping that she didn’t do anything wrong in general. She was constantly worried about things like that, having messed up her words so many times in the past that she just had to bite her tongue and hope for the best afterwards. Maybe it was best not to talk about it, especially considering the fact that most of what Shiori knew was through the media in the first place, which, let’s face it, isn’t always the most unbiased source. Lifting her hand, Shiori gently scratched the back of her head and said, “Ah—yes yes I can do that!” glancing at the two Pokemon using her legs almost as an obstacle course and weaving between them. She grunted softly and stepped out of the way, careful not to step on either of them, before saying, “I uh… I use a lot of things. S—Sometimes I use plants and berries… and so sometimes I use newer things.” She gave the girl a small glance, almost seeming to silently tell her to come look as she opened one of the cabinets up, which kept a stock of different kinds of potions and first aid supplies like bandages and wraps, while another cabinet seemed to stock different kinds of plants and berries. She paused for a moment and then said, “But ah… sometimes I don’t even use these things cause sometimes these two use certain healing abilities to help as well. I have another Pokemon too and she is outside most of the time helping out there…”[ OOC ] @nora MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS
