Rohit took a deep breathe as he glanced about at the shore. No one to the right and no one to the left, the red haired man gave a few more glances before looking down to his companion. A rather unexpected companion that is. "Okay Sohrab, you can come out." Rohit said in a low voice. THe totodile came out of the bushes beside the man and made a loud sound, seeming to be happy as it did smile; with that already strong jaw of their's. The day was rather pleasant and Sohrab must've wanted something badly for they had been trying to get Rohit to leave their hut all day, well not his hut but his grandmother's. So in order to avoid the water type getting discovered, he pretended to needed to do something and went after the totodile. Now the coast seemed clear and it was obvious they wanted to do something in the water with the man. For they seemed to sort of waddle over to it and start splashing about. Making several sounds in glee as they were doing it. "You just wanted to play huh?" Rohit asked as they removed their boots and took a few steps closer. "Toto!" Sohrab replied in their native tongue before splashing water at em. "Alright then, I'm gonna get ya!" With that, the teen raced into the shallow water and started to chase the water type about. A lot of splashing could be heard as well as a few laughs. Keilani

SEARCHING THE DEEP @rohit Let the fun begin!
| Kida walked down the shore at a relaxed pace. She had some time before her next patrol and she had decided to visit the elder lady of the Afrat family. She carried her satchel on her back, filled with a few Pearls she had found from a Clamperl colony the other day. It was strange to see her carry that while she wore her shoulder and arm guard. Kida only carried her satchel when she went on dives and not when she was dressed for a fight. Her spear trailed designs on the sand as she strolled.
The Afrat woman had asked Kida to bring her some of the best pearls she might find at some point and Kida had oblidged. Though she knew little about the Afrat family, since they mostly kept to themselves, she greatly respected the old woman. She respected all of the tribe's elders if she wanted to be honest with herself, but still...
Laughter and splashing noises came from furthure down and as Kida narrowed the corner behind a complex of water-sculpted rocks, she saw a pale boy with bright red hair play in the shallows with a Totodile. They seemed to have much fun.
For a brief moment, Kida was on alert, seeing as the boy didn't have the customary tan skin of their tribe. His hair color indicated possible ties to the Afrat family. As Kida scanned the sourroundings though she relaxed. There was no sign of outsider gear anywhere near. So Kida smiled and called out to the boy in their mother tongue. "Hey Kid!"

Rohit knew he should've kept a eye out for other tribe members, he really should've. The fact that he was with the starting form of his family's legendary was something he shouldn't have due to his state. Course when he heard someone shout to him, he froze as he stood there for a moment before diving into the deeper water. What was he suppose to do?! Sohrab followed him though he tried to hide the pokemon behind himself. For the moment Sohrab did what they wanted even though they were tugging on part of Rohit's vest to try and get em to play.
"H...Hi." Rohit greeted in their native tongue.
Seeing that Rohit wasn't going to play now for whatever reason, Sohrab swam to where he was in front of Rohit and made a few sounds. Still trying to urge the man to play. Course the poor man turned even paler as the water type swam to shoe before he could grab em to hide em again. Once on shore, Sohrab looked at the white haired warrior and made a few sounds in greeting.

| Kida raised an inquisitive eyebrow as the kid seemed to get frightened by her sudden appearance. He dived in deeper waters, trying to hide a pokemon behind him. The pokemon however didn't seem to want to hide and it swam out on shore. Kida smiled at the greeting she received from the small Totodile. She bent to one knee and raised her empty right palm in greeting. "Hello there." She said to the Totodile, before looking back at the kid.
"I don't bite kid. I'm simply going on patrol soon afterwards. You can come out of the water now. I'm Kidagakash from the Nedakh family. Who are you?" She asked him with a reassuring smile. |

Sohrab made a sound in reply to Kida as they raised a scaly hand to her. This was nice, it was a shame that he couldn't met more people. A sigh left Rohit as he gave up on hiding Sohrab for the moment and he came back to shore. The totodile took this as they were gonna go back to playing and they started to make excited sounds.
"Just...don't tell anyone about him...okay? Please?" Rohit requested, pointing to Sohrab; whom was running around the young man's feet. "I'm Rohit Afra..."
She might've heard of him despite how his family was, being in their own world it seemed with how closed off they tried to be. But word always finds a ay outside of the family to the rest of the tribe. The young man was the black sheep of his family, he wasn't a trouble maker but he was just the one member who was always ill. Sure his grandmother treated him well and he lived with her. But still, bad news always overshadows the good.

| Kida stood up as the boy came out of the water and introduced himself. So he was the Afrat boy that leaved with the elder. Kida didn't see the point in having him live like a hermit at such young age, but she wasn't the one to question another family. At least not without knowing all there was behind Rohit's story.
"You seem to have quite the energetic companion Rohit. The fact he chose you isn't something to be ashamed off." She told him, leaning on her spear as she watched the little pokemon running around his feet. "If it means that much to you though, I can assure you I wasn't planning on telling anyone." She assured him.
"Is your grandmother at your house? I want to give her something she has asked me to." She wasn't planning on leaving just yet, because the boy's hesitation and fear of being discovered triggered her curiosity and worry of something being wrong. |

"I'm not ashamed of him...." Rohit replied as he adjusted part of his now soaking wet vest. "She should be, if not then she's probably out looking for plants and such for medicine."
Sohrab came to a pause and stared up at Rohit, a few sounds left em before they jumped in the air. Still trying to get the young man's attention. Of course he did noticed, how could he not notice the small pokemon wanting his attention? They were the only one who ever did after all. Bending down, he set a hand on Sohrab's head and kept it there for a few moments.
"Don't tell her either please? She doesn't know and no one knows really...if they knew then it would end badly." Rohit urged, Sohrab seemed unaffected by Rohit's worrying but that was something they did best.
Picking the water type up, he held them gently in arms as the pokemon glanced up and squirted some water at em playfully.

| Kida laughed as the Totodile squirted the boy. "I won't tell her either." Kida assured him and looked curiously at the pair. "It's not really my business but why are you afraid of people finding out you've made a bond with such a strong pokemon? If I remember correctly you consider them your protectors in your family, don't you?" |

"Because the Feraligators are that and I'm not really viewed well in my family." Rohit answered. "I'm a black sheep to them due to my weak health, and if they learn about Sohrab well....I just don't think it will work well."
True, he didn't know what would happen if they learned about the totodile, eventually they would grow too big to hide. What then? Could he honestly keep them by his side? Would it all be okay? There was no way to know for sure until it happened, even though he honestly didn't want it to happen.
"True I don't know what would happen if they learned but I don't think it would be well." Rohit continued. "I don't even exisit half the time to my parents, they're so busy with my younger brother, molding him into a good warrior. They probably think that he should deserve Sohrab here, what if they try to take him away to give to him? What if they just try to chase Sohrab away instead? Or they could just get rid of me like they probably would want."

| Kida wanted to sneer at the boy's predicament, but she kept a neutral face. "There are many things just as important as a warrior. True strength isn't just physical. You can be even stringer than a regular warrior if you relly here..." She pointed at the side of her head. "...and here." She placed her fist over her heart.
"Don't worry yourself so much. Sohrab cannot be taken away from you. The pokemon chooses to be our companion or not. He cannot be forced to stay by your brother's side. Besides he might have seen something very important in you. Something worth protecting." She told him and looked him up and down for a moment in thought.
"You look like an average kid to me. Does your illness incapacitates you often?" She asked while formulating a plan to help the kid. Nobody deserved to be left out of the tribe because they were not able to fight. |

Rohit tightened his grip on the small water type, though taking care to at least be gentle with the reptilian creature. Sohrab was finally getting the message that their friend wasn't in the highest of spirtes and a sound left em to question them. Still there was nothing else to really go with their confusion, if only humans could understand the pokemon language. It would make things so much easier.
"I think he was just having too much fun playing in my footprints that day..." Rohit said, in a way telling her how he met the pokemon. "It did when I was a kid. I was always getting sick, a cold or sometimes something worse. There was hardly a day that seemed to go by where I wasn't kept inside of my grandmother's hut cause my parents gave up and had another son. I still get sick but it's not as often as it used to be."

| Kida nodded. "Sohrab is still young and you are too. There's really nothing specific that tells you why a pokemon chooses to become your companion. Tonrak and I nearly killed each other when we first met. It's differebt for each person." She told him and looked towards the sea. She could feel Tonrak's presence nearby, but the Gyarados hadn't surfaced.
"If you aren't sick that often, then you can start training to strengthen yourself. Nothing major, since we don't want you to get worse. Just a little something to get you back on track in becoming a more active member of the tribe. I could help you with that if you want." She proposed. |

Rohit glanced down at Sohrab, the water type stared back up at him and seemed to be smiling up at him. Course the totodile looked like they were always smiling, it was just the way their face seemed. A constant positive expression it seemed, he hadn't seen this pokemon frown once to his knowledge. Though they probably had frowned before, just when he wasn't looking or wasn't around. It was hard to keep trying to get Sohrab to stay out of the hut, he didn't want his grandmother to learn. She might accept it but she might try to get him to show his parents and use this to get back in with the family.
"The problem with that is my parents are teaching my brother and grandmother isn't able to." Rohit started though he was surprised by her words. "But....why? I'm sure you have someone in your family needing the teaching a lot more than a random stranger like me."

| Kida shook her head and frowned a little. "You don't know much about the rest of the tribe do you?" It was a question she wasn't expecting him to answer. "My family numbers extremely few these days. None of them is need of my teachings. They are either too old or too young to be trained."
She looked at him with reassurance. "To me every member of our Tribe deserves my help just the same. And you honestly look like you could use it... a lot." She sifted her grip on her spear out of habit. "What do you say?"

"My family doesn't really...socialize much outside of the family....even more so true with me due to well...you already know." Rohit answered.
Course it was clear he regretted even speaking when she mentioned why she couldn't teach her own family. Oh...well didn't he just look like a jerk now. A sigh left Rohit as he looked away, well this wasn't helping him feel any better on anything. A lot of help....heck, he needed more than just that. He really didn't know how to do anything in the tribe, he only recently got the grasp on swimming. That's how badly he needed help.
"Alright...alright." Rohit said.
There was little chance that this would help him get back in good graces with his family but he might as well not drag the whole tribe down due to his problems.
