[attr="class","thecorner"] [attr="class","nora1"] [attr="class","nora2"] [attr="class","boom1"] dreamless nights [attr="class","boom2"] in [attr="class","boom3"] summer [attr="class","brvz"] Though business for the little inn had been growing, it always died down at night, when everything grew silent as the darkness took over. Nora always ended the day with taking a quick inventory of her stock, trying to make sure she wouldn't be missing anything the next day, whilst tidying up at the same time. During the day, it could get hectic enough that she couldn't take the time to make sure she was being organized. Filiz, her little Petilil, helped her out as best as she could, and the two were able to finish the task soon enough. Still, it was late and she could almost feel the silence, it was so heavy.
When she exited her little office, the hallway was dim, as everyone was asleep. As quietly as she could, Nora tip-toed her way to her room, ready to relax after a long day. Though word was that tourism was dying out, what with Evter Island not being as "new" anymore, it seemed to her that the number of trainers were just growing. Nora didn't understand them, or their need to constantly fight, and sometimes, the Pokemon they brought back were in such awful care.
Then there was that poor Poochyena. Some trainer had thought the island would be easy, a perfect place to train a young, inexperienced Pokemon. Nora bit her tongue in anger at his ignorance. The poor thing had rushed after a weedle, straight into a hive. The trainer rushed into the inn with the pup in his arms, the two of them riddled with welts and hives, but the Poochyena, who had gotten the worst of it, looked almost unrecognizable. She had done all she could, but the Poochyena had been attacked by so many Beedrill.
Suddenly her mind was racing and with her emotions high, and though she tried to calm herself down with her nightly routine, she knew she wouldn't be able to fall asleep. In her little shift, Nora sat cross-legged on her bed, Fili in her lap. Absentmindedly stroking one of the large leaves, Nora looked down at her friend with a sad smile.
"Sometimes, I wish we could just go back home. It was a lot simpler then, huh?"
After a moment of silence, Nora stood up again, causing Fili to squeak in alarm. But without a word, she pulled on her long robe, wrapping it around her body, before stepping out into the hallway again. Silently, she made her way through the now familiar inn, tracing her steps almost through muscle memory. Coming upon a closed door, she quietly rapped her fingers on the door, not wanting to wake the girl if she was already asleep.
"Ai?" she whispered, probably not loud enough for someone to hear even if they were awake. Just in case, she knocked one more time. "Are you up?"

▲ Sleep was not something that came easily for Airi. It wasn't that she had issues sleeping, or that she never wanted to sleep. As the owner of a small - but flourishing - business, it was expected of her to spend long hours calculating how much of their expenses they'd gone over for the day versus their earnings and expected profits. Among other, even more boring and tedious actions such as, did they really have enough toilet paper to make everyone happy and, were they going to run out of soap people people kept stealing it? All in all, not the glamours life-style most would consider a more party-savvy woman such as herself would fall into. Still, Riri did what she did because she loved it. Even crunching the numbers late into the night did very little to dissuade her from continuing with the dream she had - the dream she was living out here in Evter Island. Honey Breeze was everything she wanted out of life, even in the more boring behind the scenes aspects of it. For one, it allowed her to meet many types of people. People that she wouldn't trade for anything. A small sound at her door disturbed her, jade eyes glancing up in it's direction. She didn't mind people dropping by, in fact she almost expected it every day. Any issue, she was the one to be called to fix it. Carefully shifting her papers aside Airi slipped from her bed, the worried look on her face fading only slightly when she heard the voice behind the slab of wood. "Nora?" She opened the door, hand reaching out to gently pull the slightly younger woman into her room. "What's wrong sweetie? You look a little pale."Without waiting for an answer she put a small kettle onto the mini stove she had in her room, fingers reaching out to snag a cup from one corner of the tiny kitchenette while her other hand procured a small bag of tea from it's stash. @nora Pft you did finnee. [attr="class","thecorner"] [attr="class","nora1"] [attr="class","nora2"] [attr="class","boom1"] dreamless nights [attr="class","boom2"] in [attr="class","boom3"] summer [attr="class","brvz"] Just hearing Airi's voice from behind the door seemed to settle her nerves a little, but her heart still felt heavy and there was a lump in her throat. She nodded in response, as if Airi could see her through the door and in the dark, but her jaws were clenched and she couldn't find her voice. Gently, but firmly, she was pulled into the door, into a now very familiar room, and she sat down at the edge of Airi's bed, being careful to avoid any loose papers. It really wasn't until you had nobody that you really appreciated people who loved you enough to support you. Where she was now, the situation she was in, nearly made it impossible for her to open up to people, much less trust them.
When Nora met Airi, it was like a gift from the spirits, or something. After getting cast away from her own family, knowing there was nowhere she could go, this girl was willing to take her in, despite the fact that Nora started off their relationship with lies. Now, Airi was the only one who knew about her past and was willing to remain friends, remain as someone Nora could turn to if she was in need. One day, she was going to have to repay her, though Nora wasn't sure how to fully thank her for everything she'd done.
Looking up at Airi, now preparing water for tea, Nora couldn't help but feel everything bubbling up inside her, the stress from the day, the worry for the Poochyena and now feeling absolutely helpless, always leaning on Airi for help. "Ai," she started, her eyes started to glisten as she forcefully blinked back tears. Nora was a Soclla, strong and not someone who cried over trivial issues. "Did you see that Poochyena today? Did you see the poor thing, all ... big and ... in so much pain." Her voice wavered the more she tried to calm it, and her breaths were shallow and forced. But eventually, she managed to calm herself down, though her expression didn't change. Nora looked down at her Petilil, always her quiet companion, and absent-mindedly stroked a large leaf.
"I don't know if he's going to make it out alive."

▲ Airi said very little as she focused on the tea, letting Nora collect herself from whatever had set the woman off enough to come seeking her comfort. When she had first come to Honey Breeze she had looked so lost... so hurt. It had taken every ounce of strength that Airi had to not cling to her forever then and there. She'd resisted, allowed the skittish woman to slowly relax around her in her own time. Still, it broke her heart to see Nora this upset. It always did. Quietly she knelt in front of her, offering up the mug as one hand rested on her knee to help steady herself. She'd seen the tears, knew how upset she was just from that fact. Wisely however, Airi chose not to comment on the slip of weakness. She knew how much Nora needed her pride just as much as she needed comforting. "I asked you to be my healer because I knew that there is no one else who can do a better job than you,". It was almost an empty attempt at soothing the other, though she meant every word. "If there is any chance that he will get better, it is because your fingers stroked his fur, and your blessings were whispered over him."She gave Nora a sad smile, gently taking the hand that had been absentmindedly stroking one of Filiz's leaves and kissing the palm. "However, no matter what happens I will talk to that young boy."Airi's voice hardened ever so slightly, actual anger oozing through with her words. It took a lot to upset the woman, and injury and neglect of a Pokemon was one of those that triggered the scarier side of her otherwise bubbly persona. She'd gotten someone for Honey Breeze skilled in healing simply because she knew that those who came to visit the Island and ogle the Tribes (rather than the natural beauty of the place like she truly wanted everyone too) would hardly pay attention to the dangers of it all. "I have absolute faith in you, Nora. You will do everything you can for that Pokemon and then some."@nora pft they are qt bbs alright (rip me) MADE BY VEL OF GS

[attr="class","thecorner"] [attr="class","nora1"] [attr="class","nora2"] [attr="class","boom1"] dreamless nights [attr="class","boom2"] in [attr="class","boom3"] summer [attr="class","brvz"] Nora took the mug Airi offered with a small smile, letting the mug warm her hands and Airi's words comfort her. Part of her had always thought she was just lucky that this little place was in need of her talents. If it hadn't, though, Nora would have been content with washing all the dishes for the day, if it just meant a place to stay. The fact that she was able to use her knowledge and do the only thing she knew how to do well, it helped her feel useful and less of a burden. It was moments when her skills weren't enough that she couldn't help but doubt herself. But Airi's words warmed her anyway, words she probably needed to hear.
"Thank you," Nora murmured, as the older girl gently kissed the palm of her hand. Carefully, Nora slid down the edge of the bed (Fili quickly escaping onto the bed) so that she was kneeling on the ground as well, at a much comfortable eye-level with Airi. Setting the mug down on the ground beside her, she took Airi's other hand with her free one and clasped them both together. With a soft smile, she caught Airi's eyes, hers now fully dry, and repeated, "I really mean it--thank you for everything."
Not just what she was saying now, and not just for believing in her, but, really, for everything else. Nora didn't know how to put everything into words, so she just squeezed her hands tighter, as if she never wanted her to let go. Airi was her boss, yes, but after these months, Nora could easily say that she was much like a sister, spirits in sync and working together. She knew the feeling wasn't wholly one-sided, obvious with the amount of support the other girl was willing to give her, she just hoped it would never end.
Finally pulling her hands away, Nora gave an awkward chuckle, picking up her mug again and finally taking a drink. She settled down into a cross-legged position, leaning towards Airi a little. She opened her mouth to say something when her stomach loudly announced its hunger, especially now that she had gone through such high emotions. Eyes widening in surprise, she stifled a giggle. She had made the conscious decision not to eat today, mostly because their new cook didn't even know how to light a fire. Flashing Airi a sheepish smile, Nora admitted, "Our cook kind of sucks right now."

▲ Chest tightening slightly as Nora slid to the floor the woman couldn't help but smile sadly. Every time she looked like she was in pain for any reason, it twisted at her heart and made her stomach clench. Nora meant a lot to her; as a member of her staff, as a friend, as someone she could see as a sister just as precious to her as her own blood-sister. Shifting back just enough to let her get comfortable on the floor the owner of Honey Breeze pushed back some stray hairs, giving the younger woman a small smile. "I'm always here for you, Nora. You know that. Anything and everything."Gently she reached out, tickling the leaf on Fili's head a moment. Wicker and String were off doing who knows what; she'd forbade them both at haunting the gusts but they both liked to drift out in the land surrounding the inn, often mingling with the Combee and enjoying small bits of honey that they were offered. She wasn't worried, every morning her Pokemon would come back to her, sleeping in a little pile wherever the happened to fall. At the sound of Nora's stomach growling she couldn't help but laugh, getting to her feet. "He is pretty terrible, isn't he? I swear, I'm going to cut him up and scatter his body parts in the forest." She was joking, of course. Mostly. Airi had a hard time actually acting out any violence she might threaten. "What do you want to eat?" Opening up the small fridge she kept in her room the woman stepped back enough to allow her guest a peek at what she had to offer. "Nothing as fancy as what I could whip up in the kitchen, but I'd be happy to make you something."@nora Riri is very serious about everything. Serious about ~love~ MADE BY VEL OF GS

[attr="class","thecorner"] [attr="class","nora1"] [attr="class","nora2"] [attr="class","boom1"] dreamless nights [attr="class","boom2"] in [attr="class","boom3"] summer [attr="class","brvz"] Having lost her entire family, it was comforting to have found someone she could depend on, even if she felt like a bit of a burden sometimes. She tried to repay Airi's kindness by working as hard as she could every day as to not let her down. That seemed to Nora the easiest thing she could do at the moment, but it was moments like these when she felt completely at ease. The days got hectic enough on occasion that Nora rarely got to see Airi for more than just a passing nod, and it was these late-night meetings she relished. Sometimes their conversations were light and fun, the two stiffing their giggles, and other times rather serious, talking in hushed tones as they sat close. It was comforting to be able to unload the day's work together.
Fili also giggled when Nora's stomach gurgled, immediately giving her a scolding squeak. The Petilil had been hounding her to eat all day, but Nora just couldn't make herself go into the kitchen and eat this man's food. Nora's diet was mostly vegetarian and raw, which made all this new "cooked" food an experience every time she sat down to eat. But this new cook that the inn had hired was obviously incompetent and couldn't cook anything but greasy meat and Nora was sick of it. She hadn't wanted to say anything to Airi, as she knew that they needed a cook at the inn (everyone was getting tired of Nora's wild salads and green sandwiches) and didn't want to step on any toes, but now knowing that it was a mutual dislike, Nora couldn't help but giggle at Airi's empty threat.
"Or just tell him to go hunt on his own, and we'll just hope he doesn't come back," Nora returned, a surprisingly morbid joke for her pacifist mind. Not one for violence at all, or jokes for that matter, Nora was slowly picking up on things as she spent more time at the inn. Airi's empty but ruthlessly violent threats towards some of the guests didn't help either.
When the fridge contents were presented to her, Nora said, "Oh no, you don't have to," but got up and walked to peer in anyway. Without reaching in, she scanned what was in the little fridge, when she saw the little freezer section near the top. Eyes widening when she read the box, Nora pulled it out before holding it out to Airi, excitement glimmmering in her eyes. "Can we make pizza?" she asked, her newest modern obsession.

▲ "Honestly, I don't want him lose in the forest. Can you imagine? He'd set the whole thing on fire, scare every Pokemon for miles, and likely insult three completely wonderful cultures all with one word."Clearly, Airi did not like this guy. It was nice to know that Nora didn't either. It would give them something to talk about behind the man's back from time to time, small giggles and funny faces as they (or at least she) mocked him. She'd already begun the hunt for a new chef but there were very few nibbles in the water just yet. Hopefully though something would bite before he completely ruined Honey Breeze and everything she'd worked towards. "What is with you and pizza, anyways?"Airi's tone was teasing, carefully plucking the box from Nora's fingers. It was cute, really, how her eyes would light up whenever she saw the word pizza or overheard someone even mentioning it. If Nora wanted pizza, Airi would give her pizza. All the pizza she could eat until she was absolutely sick of it. It was the least she could do. "I should make you a real pizza sometime," casually she pressed buttons on her small oven, turning a dial this direction, flicking a switch. "Frozen is fine and all, but real pizza... that's always a perfect treat. I'm not the best at it; if you want good homemade pizza you have to talk to my father, but I do know a trick or two..."@nora dont even worry about it x3 also, omg pizza MADE BY VEL OF GS
