The Johto Region, home to professor Elm, is located west of the Kanto Region and south of the Sinnoh Region. Johto also has ten cities and towns, and shares a Pokemon League with the Kanto Region. Areas of interest in the Johto Region include Bell Tower in Ecruteak City and Glitter Lighthouse in Olivine City.

The Hoenn Region, home to Professor Birch, is located south of the Sinnoh Region. The Hoenn Region has sixteen towns and cities, as well as their own Pokemon League. Areas of interest in this large region include Meteor Falls, Mt. Pyre, and Granite Cave, as well as the numerous Pokemon contests that happen across the region.

The Sinnoh Region, home to Professor Rowan, is located north of the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn Regions. The Sinnoh Region has fourteen cities and towns as well as three "areas" and a Pokemon League. Areas of interest include the Resort Area, Veilstone Game Corner, and Snowpoint Temple.

The Unova Region, home to Professor Juniper, is located quite far away from the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh Regions. There are nineteen cities and towns in the Unova Region, as well as a Pokemon League. Areas of interest include Liberty Garden, the Battle Subway, and Dragonspiral Tower.

Considered a popular Tourist Location, the Islands of Alola - four natural and one artificial - can be found teeming with Pokemon unlike, and yet alike, many of those seen in other regions. With ten cities stretched over the five islands, perhaps what is most remarkable about Alola is the sheer number of landmarks. Those visiting may chose to spend time at one of the many beaches or resorts, or visit Aether Paradise. If history is more their thing, they might consider looking into one of the four great Ruins - Conflict, Life, Abundance, or Hope.
