041: Zubat - Poison/Flying


INFILTRATOR - Passes through the opposing Pokémon's barrier and strikes.


It has no eyes. Instead, it relies on its ultrasonic cries for echolocation to flit about in darkness.


Zaa is rather weak, despite his age and how long he has been around. Other than his most useful ability to chirp (or, echo-locate) in helps of not only flying himself but assisting Val in getting around by his guidance, he knows the moves BITE which is by far his most used move. POISON FANG is another, though Val often chides him for harming another using toxins. He is prone to using GUST though more in order to mess up hair or paperwork than as an actual move. Although Zaa's wings are on the smaller side he used WING ATTACK as a swooping charge, often followed by AIR SLASH to do real damage.


He is a bit on the snarky side, choosing to ignore anyone and everyone else. If you are not Val, you are not important to him at all. To be graced by his attention is a rare thing indeed and Val has learned to trust his judgement on those few people that Zaa actually likes. (Though his dislikes are ignored as they are numerous.)


As his oldest Pokemon Zaa found young Val shortly after what can be assumed was his own birth. Although lacking eyes it is assumed that the young Zubat liked what he saw in the blind boy and latched onto him with everything he was worth. Zaa enjoys hanging out on Val's shoulder nestled just under his hair while he clings to the human for dear life. No one is really sure how, but that's what Zaa does none the less.

714: Noibat - Flying/Dragon


TELEPATHY - Anticipates an ally's attack and dodges it.


They live in pitch black caves. Their enormous ears can emit ultrasonic waves of 200,000 hertz.


Ore is the one that, if a battle needs to be fought, he will do the fighting. It wasn't a choice made by Val and often Val isn't even given a say in the matter. His favorite move is HURRICANE which can be rather problematic all things considered. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) Ore does not have much control over the ability and while he would like to use it all the time he often settles for using SUPER FANG. Using his wings and more control Ore will also dish out a powerful RAZOR WIND or it's less powerful AIR CUTTER.


While not really a snarky or shy soul he is a bit fast to anger and more likely to be the one to attack first and ask questions later. If Zaa manages to get Ore riled up then one of two things happen - Val is breaking up a fight between them, or a fight involving at least Ore and some poor hapless passerby.


Ore stumbled upon Val in his late childhood, becoming friends with the boy despite Zaa's disgust at the idea. He was entranced by how this blind human worked to get around and after a few weeks of interaction decided to lend his own assistance in the matter. He is often found perched on Val's head, or other shoulder though there are times when Ore can be found walking alongside him (awkwardly) or flying nearby.

527: Woobat - Psychic/Flying


KLUTZ - The Pokémon can't use any held items.


The heart-shaped mark left on a body after a Woobat has been attached to it is said to bring good fortune.


She is the worst at fighting. Honestly the idea of her fighting is painful enough that Val doesn't even like to consider it. Still, she knows HEART STAMP and often covers people's faces in (painful) little hearts. She also knows CONFUSION and although weak-winged, GUST. All in all, she does not often fight and should hopefully never have too.


Poof is the happiest ball of well, poof, that you could ever possibly see. Everyone is her friend and she will go out of her way to show them that. It can be problematic sometimes though thankfully neither Zaa nor Ore hate her. (If anything she is their baby sister that they must protect with everything they have.)


Only recently hatched Poof was a 'gift' from the government in their attempts to assimilate him. She is the only Pokemon in his group to have a Pokeball, though Val has never once used it. He carries her around in his arms, or a small bag that he keeps slung at his side.
